For its Game of the Year Edition box art, Fallout 3 features the player character wearing a T-45 power armor and holding an AEP7 laser pistol. You’ll find this deadly combination on Brotherhood of Steel combatants, and at the center of this gorgeous lithograph.
The artwork, created by Luke Preece, looks like a movie poster or a comic book cover. Its green-and-black color palette is a delight to look at and may remind you of radioactive material or a Pip-Boy screen.
If you look closely, you can see Preece’s meticulous attention to detail come into play. His masterly use of composition, cross-hatching and the monochromatic color scheme produce a gorgeous image that will lure you in again and again. The way he rendered metal creates a particularly satisfying effect.
Behind the character looms the symbol of the Brotherhood of Steel. If you look around, you can see more pieces of Fallout lore: a teddy bear, a Nuka-Cola model truck, and some caps. Anyone else feeling an itch to grab a Rock-It Launcher?
